Butterfly Travels

$500.00

Butterfly Travels, 2025, oil on canvas, 16" x 16" $500

I’m delighted to share my painting, Butterfly Travels. It features a vibrant monarch butterfly perched gracefully on a cluster of soft, pastel flowers, surrounded by lush green leaves. The rich oranges and striking black veins on the wings contrast playfully with the gentle pinks, purples, and peaches below, capturing a moment full of life and color. Creating this piece was like inviting a little traveler into the studio—one that reminded me how even the smallest wings can carry a big story. I hope it brings a bit of that spirited journey to your day.

For I Love You So, oil on linen, 24" x 18", Kathy Corey

For I Love You So reveals a quiet ritual suspended in time—a moment where light and shadow carve a sanctuary of calm. The woman’s closed eyes and steady hands speak to an intimacy beyond the surface, as she carefully slices a cake that seems both real and symbolic. Around her, a lit candle flickers with unseen energy, a dark bottle stands sentinel, and shadows deepen the mystery. This painting is an invitation to linger in that delicate balance between presence and absence, where the ordinary folds into the mystical and the familiar folds quietly into the unknown.

On the Beach at Night, oil on canvas, 30" x 40", Kathy Corey

On the Beach at Night captures a moment where the boundary between day and dark feels both fluid and charged. The sky shifts in deep blues and warm amber, as if the horizon itself is breathing with quiet intensity. The ocean mirrors this twilight transformation, its surface restless yet calm, brushstrokes tracing the subtle movement of waves folding into the shore. In creating this piece, I was drawn to the mysterious exchange of light and shadow that happens just as night begins — a space where color becomes the language of stillness and unseen rhythms. This work is an invitation to linger in that twilight tension, where the sea and sky converse in whispered tones.

Louie's Backyard, oil on canvas, 20"x30", Kathy Corey

Louie’s Backyard is my little invitation to slow down and savor a sunny afternoon by the water. Picture a round table dressed in soft blue, set with two glasses filled with something golden and two crisp napkins waiting quietly. The wooden deck beneath your feet, the gentle sway of potted plants, and a big blue umbrella shading the scene—all framed by a sailboat drifting across calm waters under a sky sprinkled with clouds. This painting came alive from a lunch I had at Louie’s Backyard in Key West, where the peaceful vibe practically begged to be captured. It’s a slice of coastal calm that I hope makes you want to pull up a chair and stay awhile.

The rich blues and greens in the background deepen the feeling of a calm, protected space. This piece was inspired by the dwindling population of the Mangrove Cuckoo in the Florida Keys—fewer than 2,000 remain in the U.S.—and it reflects both the fragility and quiet strength of that natural world. Creating this work was a meaningful way to explore themes of care and conservation through portraiture and landscape combined.

Evening Song, 2021, 20x24", oil on canvas, $850, Kathy CoreyThe artwork depicts a serene seascape at sunset. The horizon line divides the composition into two parts: a calm, dark ocean below and a vibrant sky above. The sky is filled with warm hues of orange and red blending into softer shades of yellow and pink near the horizon, gradually transitioning to cooler tones of blue and purple as it extends upward. The sun is positioned just at the horizon, partially submerged, casting a gentle reflection on the rippling water surface. The overall mood of the piece is tranquil and contemplative, capturing the quiet beauty of the transition between day and night.

Flamingo

Flamingo, 2022, 30x24", oil on linen, $950, Kathy Corey

I’m excited to share my painting, Flamingo—a 30-by-24 oil on canvas that’s a little bit graceful, a little bit wild, and all about that perfect splash of pink. Picture a woman standing in water, wrapped in feathers that fan out like a flamingo showing off its best side. Inspired by Degas dancers and the elegant Florida flamingo, this piece blends movement, color, and nature in a way that feels both serene and spirited. It was a joy to bring this vision to life, balancing the softness of feathers with the cool, calming water and a sky glowing just right. I hope it brings a bit of unexpected whimsy and grace to your day.

Buds and Blooms

$450.00

I’m thrilled to share my artwork, Buds and Blooms. At 11-by-14 inches, this oil painting is packed with vibrant red flowers bursting with energy, surrounded by rich green leaves that wrap around them like a secret garden. The textured petals and sweeping brushstrokes are my way of catching the wild dance of nature’s colors and shapes. I played with a deep blue background to make those reds and greens pop — it’s like the flowers are stepping forward, ready to brighten any room.
