During this time of physical distancing, I have been working in my art studio everyday. It is part of my self-care... what I do to ground myself. When I am creating, I lose track of time. An hour can go by in a flash. When I studied with the Anthropedia Well-Being training program, I learned that "Almost all of us occasionally lose track of time and even forget where we are for a moment when we’re doing something we really love. This is fortunate because such experiences are part of what’s needed for us to live a happy life. " - Know Yourself DVD1
So here are three ideas to decrease your stress and live a happy life: 1) Get lost in drawing, painting, doodling, or any activity where you are exercising your creativity. 2) Take a walk with out your phone or watch. Really observe your world. 3) Put the timer on for one hour. Don't switch tasks until the timer goes off.
All these things will help you get in the zone, lose track of time, and destress.
