Victoria Pendragon
A graduate of the Philadelphia Museum College of Art and veteran of Penland School of Crafts, Victoria Pendragon’s work hangs in numerous corporate and private collections. In 2003, Pendragon began to focus on completing the first in a series of self-help-for-self-healing books which have since been published by Ozark Mountain Publishing.
In 1984, Pendragon’s body had severely disfigured by diffuse progressive systemic sclerosis, a condition that is generally fatal and incurable. The only remnants of the disease over 20 years later are her wrists and her hands which remain in a permanent claw-like position. Because of this all her work is done on a horizontal surface.
In 2010 Pendragon returned to creating art full time, producing a series of mixed media pieces with a broad metaphysical theme. This led to a one-woman show, Witness, a public service exhibition dealing with the ramifications of childhood abuse. A series of collages, Witness has been exhibited in Pennsylvania and Virginia. In 2013 she returned to painting full time, advancing through a series of styles and themes, expanding the vortex of creative energy and her love of pattern that first surfaced in her work of the 60’s. It has now elaborated itself and taken on a life of its own.
