This is one of a series of what I call my 'ampersand' paintings - where I take a commonly known phrase and provide a literal interpretation of it. In this case, the term, "Jack & Coke" is re-spun, simply by showcasing a playing card featuring the Jack of Hearts, an ampersand and a glass of Coke. Together, this painting stands on its own. But when seen in context with the others in the series, they all work to form a striking imagery of common expressions.
