There is so much news to share with you. Please welcome new artists Lou Conroy and Victoria Pendragon. Lou Conroy I worked as a hairstylist, received a BFA in art and graphic design, then worked 20 years as a graphic designer for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 19 years, but my true passion throughout my life has been the study and practice of portrait and figurative art. I am happy to be a part of the St. Louis artistic community and regularly train at Gateway Academy of Classical Art. Victoria Pendragon Fascinated by pattern since I was old enough to draw, I majored in Fabric Design at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. I am 75, now, my hands viciously crippled by a disease that was supposed to kill me 30 years ago. I am living in "wild & wonderful" West Virginia and my surroundings have overwhelmed me with a desire to paint such as I have never experienced... and what I want to paint - and do paint - is the beauty that surrounds me... but my way... seen as pattern. The annual national online exhibit opened on Nov 1. The theme is Disorder/Order. 87 artists and over 250 artworks were narrowed down to 44 artists and 62 artworks. Virginia Becker and Gisele Obermeier blind juried the show. I am so proud that Mindy Cooke, Michael LaRue, Nancy Van Ness, Victoria Pendragon, and myself had work selected. The jurors selected Michael LaRue's "Gateway to the West" photo for an honorable mention award. Congratulations, Michael.
